Animal Health Australia (AHA) held its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today and welcomed two new Board Directors, Roseanne Healy and Edward (Ed) Storey, re-appointed Malcolm Letts and farewelled outgoing Directors Michelle Gorman and Dr Len Stephens.
AHA Chairperson, Sharon Starick said “On behalf of the AHA Board and our members, congratulations to our newly appointed directors for a four-year term. They each bring their own unique knowledge, experiences and connections to the AHA Board, ensuring that AHA together with our members, develop solutions and advocate for the highest standards of animal health and biosecurity in Australia”.
Roseanne Healy is an experienced director, with an extensive career spanning strategic advisory and investment banking. Roseanne has board experience with ASX listed, private, statutory and not-for-profit organisations. She has corporate finance qualifications and a strong connection to the resource and agriculture sectors.
“I look forward to the opportunity to join the AHA Board. The role of AHA is of fundamental importance to Australia’s economy and reputation globally”, said Ms Healy.
Ed Storey is a sheep and wool producer from Yass, NSW and an experienced director with a key role being the past President of WoolProducers Australia – an AHA livestock member. As such, he has a deep understanding of AHA’s programs and biosecurity more broadly.
“I am thrilled to be joining the AHA Board. AHA is one of the Australian livestock industry’s best assets. At a time when the biosecurity risks are growing rapidly it is vital that shared information, collaboration and planning through AHA is as effective as it can be. I look forward to being able to make a positive contribution to the company”, said Mr Storey.
Current director, Malcolm Letts was re-appointed for another term, maintaining his valuable experience on the board.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be offered another four years on the AHA Board. In my view, the national biosecurity system has never been more important to Australia. Member confidence in AHA and the critical role it plays is strong and I’m looking forward to doing all that I can to continue to support the wonderful AHA team”, said Mr Letts.
These appointments replace the vacancies left by Dr Len Stephens and Michelle Gorman, who completed their terms as non-executive directors.
“Len has been a board member for eight years, offering valuable industry knowledge as a veterinarian with extensive experience in research management. Michelle was also on the board for eight years offering significant industry and corporate finance knowledge. We thank them both for their substantial commitment and contributions to the biosecurity system, “said Ms Starick.
