CEO update – September 2024

16 Sep

3rd Australian Biosecurity Symposium

Animal Health Australia (AHA) partnered once again with Invasive Species Council, Centre for Invasive Species Solution and Plant Health Australia with the delivery of the 3rd Australian Biosecurity Symposium on the Gold Coast.

We had almost 450 delegates from across Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, India, Indonesia, New Zealand and Taiwan discussing how we can strengthen Australia’s biosecurity system. You can see all the wonderful photos and the talented work of our visual scribe at this link and read more about the Symposium here.

Update to the review of the AHA Constitution

The AHA executive and board appreciated all the input from members about the review of the AHA Constitution. The Board and Executive have assessed the Member feedback and based on this, have scaled back the proposed changes to essential updates only. The AHA Chair will give a presentation at the September Members’ Forum explaining the amendments, which are now limited to those that are necessary to modernise and update the constitution.

The revised Constitution will be put to AHA Members at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 13 November 2024.

Member Engagement Week: September

There is still time to register for Member Engagement Week which will kick off on Monday 23 September with the Industry and Government Forums as well as our networking event. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
