Animal Health Australia is the custodian of the Emergency Animal Disease Response Agreement (EADRA) and is responsible for ensuring it remains a nationally supported, contemporary, and legally binding framework that enables a rapid, effective, and efficient cost-shared response to listed EADs.
Animal Health Australia keeps the EADRA current and fit for purpose by:
- hosting workshops where representatives of signatories discuss issues relating to the agreement
- consulting signatories through a working group and out-of-session papers
- coordinating the drafting and signing of variations to the agreement
- coordinating formal reviews of the operations of the EADRA every five years
- coordinating reviews to evaluate national arrangement for any cost-shared responses under the EADRA

EADRA workshops
EADRA workshops serve as a key discussion forum to support the ongoing development of the EADRA. Led by AHA, these workshops bring together signatories to review priorities, provide feedback, and help shape the EADRA work plan, ensuring informed and coordinated decision-making across the sector.
