Strategic Plan 2025-2030

The Animal Health Australia Strategic Plan 2025–2030 was developed through extensive consultation with our members and stakeholders. It reflects our collective commitment to strengthening Australia’s animal health and biosecurity system in the face of evolving global and local challenges.

This plan sets AHA’s strategic direction for the next five years and outlines how we will work together to support and protect the long-term success of Australia’s livestock industries, animal health, food security, and community wellbeing.

Strategic Plan 2025-2030

Our plan is built on four key priorities:

  • Prepare & Respond — strengthening our ability to act quickly and effectively in biosecurity emergencies.
  • Prevent — managing risks before they reach farms and supply chains.
  • Partner — fostering collaboration across government, industry, and the community for stronger outcomes.
  • Perform — ensuring AHA operates with excellence, strong leadership, and robust governance.

Strategic Plan 2020-2025: five years of impact and innovation

To close out 2020–25 Strategic Plan, we’ve produced a final report reflecting on five years of progress, challenges, and collaboration.

Through strong collaboration with members, we’ve achieved significant progress on the priorities set out in the plan. Together, we’ve strengthened biosecurity systems, deepened member engagement, and delivered national programs that have advanced Australia’s animal health sector.
