National Arbovirus Monitoring Program 2024-25 Annual Report now available

2024-25 NAMP annual report

Animal Health Australia has published the 2024-2025 National Arbovirus Monitoring Program (NAMP) Annual Report.

NAMP tracks selected insect-borne viruses that affect cattle, sheep, goats and other ruminant livestock, along with the insects that spread them. The program provides trusted data to support market access, bluetongue early warning, and national disease surveillance.

This report provides a snapshot of arborvirus activity across Australia during the September 2024 to August 2025 transmission season.  It highlights where virus activity was detected, how distribution patterns are changing, and how seasonal conditions—such as rainfall—may influence virus activity.

The report also outlines the national NAMP monitoring network and the role of producers, industry, researchers, and government in supporting Australia’s surveillance system.

AHA would like to thank the producers, program coordinators, virologists, entomologists, and government and industry partners who make this program possible.
