H7 Avian influenza response in Victoria
I’d like to acknowledge the evolving situation of highly pathogenic Avian influenza (HPAI) in Victoria. The frontline workers in these responses are doing an excellent job, and we are very grateful for their efforts.
There are currently four infected properties in Victoria – it is important to note that the outbreak is not the H5 strain that is causing concern globally.
Animal Health Australia (AHA) continues to work with our affected members to support them during this response.
I encourage all our members to continue to monitor the AgVic and outbreak.gov.au websites to access the latest information and updates.
Member Engagement Week
The AHA Member Engagement Week commenced in Canberra this week. There will be the usual Members’, Industry and Government Forums, networking functions, the Emergency Animal Disease Response Agreement workshop and National Management Group training. The draft 2025-30 Strategic Plan will be presented at Members Forum – you would have received a copy of this last week.
You can see the full program of events here. We look forward to seeing many of you this week!
Kind regards,
Samantha Allan
